Notes & Tabs
Acoustic Disclaimer
Note to all -- I'one thousand approaching this song from an acoustic perspective. If you're looking for solo tabs or any sort of electric guitar education, I would recommend you look elsewhere.
Basic Guitar Chords Used
Here are the basic positions for the guitar chords used in this song. Of course, you can get creative and use barre chords (or other positions) for these chords every bit you lot see fit. If you're only getting started, I'd begin with these.

Acoustic Intro Tab
Hither is a great way to arroyo the intro to this vocal. This is based off the unplugged Starkers in Tokyo version, but is simplified to be accessible and a bit easier to play. Listen forth for the strumming and rhythm, every bit the rhythm is only approximated here.

Acoustic Poetry Tab
Here is how I play the commencement of the verse to this vocal, on an acoustic guitar. Note that this can be used for the intro every bit well, technically (though I like to play the intro with different formations of these chords to mix it up). Again, listen forth for strumming and rhythm.

Videos
Official Music Video
Hither is the official music video from Whitesnake. Since most of this version isn't guitar based (particularly for rhythm segments), I've modeled most of the tabs above after the audio-visual versions which yous tin spotter further downward this page.
Whitesnake Acoustic Version (Starkers in Tokyo)
This is an first-class Whitesnake unplugged performance of this song which only has the lead singer and guitarist. The guitar organization here is quite first-class (most of the tabs in a higher place are based on this, even if but approximations). Note, he is playing with his guitar tuned down 1/two pace.
Advanced Acoustic Guitar Lesson
Hither is an excellent instructional video showing you how to play this song just like the Starkers in Tokyo unplugged version. Note, this is probably not recommended for beginners as there are some tricky chord formations existence used here.

My name is David Potsiadlo, and I created Songnotes to share my drove of guitar tabs, chords, and lyrics for my favorite songs.
Since I started playing guitar over 10 years agone, I've often been frustrated past the preponderance of mediocre and incomplete song tabs littered across the net. To combat this, I started keeping my own collection of notes for each vocal I learn -- always taking the extra time to brand sure accuracy and abyss are never compromised. Years later, my collection grew to the point where I knew I had to share it online with fellow aspiring musicians.
In Dec 2012, I began designing & developing a website that became Songnotes. Hither, I share my personal drove of hand-crafted music notation with all those online. I promise you enjoy.
